Bobby Fosha

January 10, 1940 - October 27, 2018

Bobby Jack “B.J.” Fosha, 78, of Buna, died Saturday, October 27, 2018. He was born on January 10, 1940, in Evadale, to Jewrene Charlton Fosha and Jack Fosha.

B.J. married the love of his life, Peggy, at the age of 26 and was a devoted husband for fifty-two years.   A few years later, he became a father to Michelle, whom they adopted at just 5 days old. There’s never been a more devoted man to his wife and daughter. Their love for each other is immeasurable.

B.J. loved to visit with everyone. Discussing everything from history to herbs – but his favorite subject was the Bible and Jehovah his God. B.J. became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the age of 19. Spending almost six decades in the ministry, helping others. With copies of Bible-based literature in hand, he would strike up conversations at doctor’s offices, or gas stations, sharing scriptures, as well as his love and kind smile. B.J. lived his life by God’s word and as a result, all who met him both enjoyed, respected, and admired him.

B.J. retired as a forester from Champion International in 2000 and went to work for Parker Forestry three days later (he didn’t like the word retirement). It was not just a job, but also a hobby and passion. He had a lifelong love of trees, plants, and growing his garden. His delicious vegetables and fruits were enjoyed by family and hundreds of friends over the years. Anyone who says they didn’t like greens, never had any grown or cooked by B.J.!

B.J. always had concern for others in his heart and offered his help unconditionally. Whether he was imparting one of his famous “B.J.-isms” (quotes he remembered or made up himself) or Bible counsel, he accomplished his intended purpose, that being to create a giggle, impart knowledge, or comforting others.

B.J.’s memory will live on in the hearts of all of his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Fosha; daughter, Michelle Armstrong and her husband, Joey, of Nederland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sherrie and Jim O’Bier of McKinney and Colleen and Jerry of Ovilla; nieces and nephews, Eric and Elonda O’Bier of Whitewright, Jonie Pickard of McKinney, Corey Carroll of Fort Worth, and Jeff Carroll of Cedar Hill; great-niece and great-nephew, Layla Pickard and Aidan Pickard; and numerous other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jewrene and Jack Fosha; brother, John Wayne Fosha; and Maggie and Granddad Charlton.

B.J.’s memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 2, 2018, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
