C. O. Proctor, Sr.

April 21, 1932 - February 21, 2020

C. O. “Preacher” Proctor, Sr., 87, of Moscow, died Friday, February 21, 2020. He was born on April 21, 1932, in Marshall, to Mae Jones Proctor and Paul Proctor. C. O. was a former pastor in several church’s in East Texas, he was a United States Army veteran, enjoyed gardening, and his hobby was to build knives.

Survivors include his sons, Cecil O’dell Proctor, Jr., and his wife, Janette; Donnie Proctor and his wife, Mylinda; grandchildren, Paul S. Proctor and his wife, Carrie; Christina Bacon and her husband, Mark; Micheal Favors; Gloria Smith; Maryra Lee; Jeremy Proctor and his wife, Elizabeth; Don Don Proctor and his wife, Tisha; Ricky Proctor and his wife, Shann; Karen Bryant and her husband, Mike; and Jessie Robert Proctor; nineteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Cecil is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Helen Proctor; his parents; sons, Jessie Wylie Proctor and William “Bill” Proctor; grandson, Cecil “Bubba” O’dell Proctor III; great-grandson, Colton Proctor; and brother, Paul Proctor.

A gathering of Mr. Proctor’s family and friends will begin 9:00 a.m., with his funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at Little Rock Assembly of God, 5970 Highway 326 North, Kountze. His interment will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze, under the direction of Broussard’s, Silsbee.
