Carolyn Haney

July 29, 1940 - June 29, 2020

Carolyn Haney, 79, of Beaumont, died Monday, June 29, 2020. She was born on July 29, 1940 to Mary Maxine Loupe and Alvy Troy Walker, in Buras, Louisiana. She lived the majority of her life in Southeast Texas.

Carolyn is survived by her three sons, Michael Haney and his wife, Paula, of Murphy; Robert Haney, of Beaumont; and Brad Haney and his wife, Gloria, of New Caney. She is cherished in the memory of her beloved grandchildren, Shane Haney and his wife, Jordan, of Allen; Kaley Haney, Breanna Haney, Brooke Haney, and Brylee Haney; and great-grandchild, Hudson Daniel Haney; brother, Pete Walker and his wife, Shirley, of Georgetown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of fifty-one years, Weldon Haney; great-grandchild, Caleb Christian Haney; and brother, Billy Walker.

Carolyn loved her family dearly. Her boys meant the world to her. Every visit was filled with fun and laughter. She would be there for them no matter what. She traveled many times across the state of Texas just to watch football games her son was coaching. She was always willing to lend a hand in any project her boys had going on. One of her favorite things was spending time with all of her grandchildren. She learned quickly, after raising three boys, how to do ponytails for four granddaughters. She loved to babysit, play board games, watch them play in their athletic games, and cheer competitions. No matter what her family was doing, she wanted to be there with them supporting them and cheering them on.

A gathering of Mrs. Haney’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2020, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 700 North Street M, Beaumont, Texas 77701.

I remember Carolyn so fondly. When I was a young teenager, and she and Weldon were friends with my sister and brother in law. He and Weldon had been friends for many years, and I watched the kids while the two couples visited and played dominoes I never forgot how kind she was to me, and when learned how much I lwas vex to read she sometimes loaned me a book she thought I might enjoy. Although I hadn't seen her in many years, when I graduated from law school she sent me the nicest note and, of course, a book. I'm thinking of "the boys right now, but know you two are comforted by a lifetime of memories with this remarkable woman. Gail Cucancic Jenkins
