Charles Albritton

October 8, 1949 - May 19, 2018

Charles William Albritton – the epitome of being a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, godfather, uncle, and friend transitioned from this earthly home on Saturday May 19, 2018, at CHI St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston Texas with his family by his bedside.

Charles was born on October 8, 1949 in Hankamer Texas, was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School in Anahuac Texas, served in the United States Army, with a tour in The Vietnam War, from 1969 to 1971. Charles and Marilyn united in October 1971, from this union a family blossomed; Calvin, Malinda, Sterling (Dusty), and Aaron. He was well-known by many and a stranger to none. He always had a way with his words, which made you laugh or simply think about life’s challenges. His love always ran deeper than the bass in his voice. He taught his children the definition of what it meant to be men and women of great character.

Charles dedicated forty-five plus years to the oil and gas industry working as a control room operator. He enjoyed spending most of his time with his family as they traveled on adventurous summer vacation road trips. Always “Albritton-Mayes Family Road Trips”, what a time!! He enjoyed planting a garden in the back yard, hunting, and detailing his precious trucks. All the children knew “Daddy” did not play when it came to his TRUCK. Charles made a host of friends during countless days just being his humble self. He was known as a “Father Figure” to all and was a TRUE Superhero in his Children’s Eyes – PERFECT IN EVERYWAY!

Charles accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age; was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a founding member of the Hankamer Concerned Citizens Council.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Ralph Albritton, Murphy Lee Burton; Step Father, Theodore Burton; sisters Doris Brooks (Eli), Lillian Lewis (Hugh), and his Brother -in-law Jesse Jamerson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of forty-seven years, Marilyn Albritton; daughter, Malinda Albritton-Johnson (Joe); sons Calvin Hill, Sterling (Dusty) Richardson, and Aaron Albritton; grandkids Jaylen Richardson, MaKhyla Johnson, Caleb Hill, Darius Richardson, Uriah Hill and Katelyn Richardson; god-daughter Lois A. Johnson, sister Lillie Jameson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A gathering of Mr. Albritton’s family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m., with his funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Interment will follow at Whittington Cemetery, Hankamer.

You will truly be missed. Growing up I spent a lot of days at the house not one day there this man never told me to go home instead he had open arms. I loved him dearly. One time he told Melinda to go get me because he found something on his truck. Melinda n I just had used the truck the night before. I said Melinda what did he find she said I don't know. Both of us scared because we knew he didn't play when it came to his truck. When we got there he said come here and look who's lip prints are on my window. All we could do was laugh. Ill never forget my time i spent with him n the family. Prayers n love to the family.
