Charles “Charlie” Harold Morris

Charles “Charlie” Harold Morris, 64, of Vidor, died Thursday, March 9, 2017. He was born on January 16, 1953, in Beaumont, to Mary Carolyn Morgan Morris and Lige William Morris, and retired as a Jefferson County Correctional Officer. Charlie was a proud “Greenie”, having graduated from South Park High School, and served as a yardman and soundman at New Horizon Church in Beaumont. He enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, and barbecuing.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Morris; daughters, Angela Watts and her husband, David; and Christina Monroe and her husband, Eric; grandchildren, Olivia and Luke Monroe; brothers, Claude Morris, of Weberville; and Donald Morris and his wife, Carmen, of Vidor; an aunt; and uncle; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents. A gathering of Charlie’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 13, 2017, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at New Horizon Church, 880 West Cardinal Drive, Beaumont.
