Charles Powell

May 27, 1935 - November 1, 2018

Charles Louis Powell, 83, of Spring, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Park Manor of Cypress Station Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Houston. 

He was born May 27, 1935, in Greenville, Mississippi, to Annie Mae and John Henry Powell. 

He was a Marine veteran and retired after thirty-seven years of employment with Gulf State Utilities in Beaumont, Texas

Charles is survived by his son, Wes Powell of Houston; daughter, Tracye Holliday of Groves; son, Chuck Powell of Port Neches; grandchildren, Chris Venable and Emma Powell, daughter, Millicent Yount of Willis, Texas, son, Stuart Roane of Chase, Louisiana, and grandchildren, David Yount, Sarah Yount, and Hampton Roane; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Hunt Powell; his parents; and siblings, Nita Davidson, Norma Stockholm, John Powell, George Powell, Larry Powell, and Edward Powell. 

A gathering of Mr. Powell’s family and friends will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Friday, November 9, 2018 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A memorial service will follow immediately at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers or plants, family and friends may contribute to the American Cancer Society of Southeast Texas, #4 Bayou Brandt, Suite B, Beaumont, Texas 77706, as an option.

I hope you remember the wornderful times you shared with your father growing up. He was a very good man. I still miss my dad everyday but the pain will get easier as time passes.
