Cooper Wayne Ballinger
Cooper Wayne Ballinger, 7, of China, died Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at University Health Hospital, Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born on January 13, 2010, to Ashley Goodeaux Ballinger and James “Jimbo” Ballinger, in The Woodlands.
Cooper was in Gifted and Talented classes at China Elementary and at the top of his Accelerated Reading class. He was very creative, loved to make others smile, and always saw past others difficulties. Cooper loved to color and draw, read, hunt, and sing and dance at the top of his lungs. He loved loud and proud.
Survivors include his parents, Ashley and Jimbo Ballinger of China; brothers, Jackson Ballinger and Sawyer Ballinger; maternal grandparents, Kim and Paul Goodeaux of China; paternal grandmother, Doris Ballinger of Beaumont; uncle, Keith “Skillet” Goodeaux and his wife, Jill “Jillabean”, of Sour Lake; aunts, Robin Williams and her husband, Jeremy, of Beaumont and Lynett Howe of Bridge City; cousins, Bryn Goodeaux, Shelby Roberts, Jacob Bandy, Taylor Bandy, Gabby Howe, Drew Howe, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Shorty Ballinger.
A gathering of Cooper’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at China Cemetery, China.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the China Elementary School Library, 605 Henderson Avenue, China, Texas 77613.
