Corbet “Joe” Landry

November 10, 1920 - September 8, 2019

Corbet Joseph Landry, 98, of Port Neches, died Sunday, September 8, 2019. He was born November 10, 1920, in Erath, Louisiana, to Elda Broussard Landry and Calice Landry.

Corbet was a United States Coast Guard veteran that served during World War II. He enjoyed gardening and spending time in his yard in general. He also loved spending time at his beach and bayou camps. Most of all, spending time with his family was his greatest joy.

He is survived by his daughters, JoLynn DeCoux, of Port Neches and Jacquelyn Ross and her husband, Gene, of LaBelle; son, Corbet Blane Landry and his wife, Dinah, of Nederland; grandchildren, Monique Clark; Kent DeCoux, and his wife, Marla; Dustin Ross; Ashley Ross Cole; Jeremy Landry and his wife, Beth; and Shane Landry and his wife, Karen; great-grandchildren, Cody Clark; Celsea Breaux and her husband, Josh; Landry DeCoux; Payton Ross; Kimber Cole; Ethan Landry; Heidy Landry; Layni Landry; Ella Landry; and Alec Landry; sisters, Dossie LaBove, of Port Arthur and Jane Perrin, of Erath, Louisiana; caregiver, Erna Sandlin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Elda and Calice Landry; wife, Rose Mary Thibodeaux Landry; sisters, Medith “Ditsie” Dronet and Annie Lou Rodrigue; and son-in-law, Michael DeCoux.

A gathering of Mr. Landry’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 12, 2019, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with her entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
