Crespin Lopez

Crespin Lopez, 93, of Winnie, died Thursday, March 22, 2018. He was born on June 15, 1924, in Nixon, to Emelia and Sebastian Lopez. He was a proud decorated veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II. He had been a foreman for Brown & Root; and also the retired co-owner, of Hilda’s Little Kitchen.
Survivors include daughters, Marie Fontenot and her husband, Jackie, of Anahuac and Saleana Faye Lopez of Colorado; granddaughter, Kayla Marie Matheson; grandson, Christopher Ross Lopez; sister, Nazaria Odden, of San Angelo; brothers, John Lopez, of Beaumont; and Moses Lopez, of Fort Worth.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of sixty-six years, Hilda F. Lopez; son, Crespin Lopez, Jr.; grandson, Jackie Darrel Fontenot, Jr.
A gathering of Mr. Lopez’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
