Danny Satcher

April 25, 1952 - September 6, 2019

Danny Lynn Satcher, 67 of Beaumont, died peacefully at home, Sept. 6, 2019, after a courageous 2-year battle with cancer. He was born on April 25, 1952, in Beaumont to Juanita Keith Pittman and Carl Elmer Satcher.

Danny attended French High School, where he graduated in 1972. He had some of the nicest & flashiest cars in the parking lot. He would trade with friends & you never knew what he would be driving next. After High School, Danny went to trade school & mastered the art of bricklaying. It was hard work, but he liked nothing better than being on the “brick job” with his friends. Later on, he was the owner & operator of Brick Works Masonry for many years. One of his greatest accomplishments was laying the brick on Cathedral in the Pines, here in Beaumont. Danny had been retired since 2011.

Danny loved the ocean or lake, it didn’t matter. He first got into sailing, and then went on to speed

boats, the faster, the better! He enjoyed many weekends with friends & boating. Danny loved baseball & helped with Evening Optimist Little League as a Vice President, coach and also kept the grass mowed!

Another favorite past time was just hanging out in his shop, talking with friends that may stop by. He loved listening to talk radio & catching up on sports. He loved all sports, especially the Astros, Cowboys Texans & the Rockets. Everyone was welcome, & the pool was where he enjoyed playing basketball with his boys. They loved hanging out with their Dad. And not to forget his dog Ruby, she was very special to him.

Danny is survived by his loving wife of almost 40 years, Janna Satcher of Beaumont; sons, Blake Satcher and his wife Leesa, of Montgomery and Jordan Satcher of Beaumont; sisters, Letha Miller of Beaumont, Linda Sheffield and her husband, Joe, of Cypress; and Debbie White of Silsbee; granddaughter Zoey Satcher of Montgomery; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Satcher; mother, Juanita Hutto, and nephew, Michael Miller.

A gathering of Mr. Satcher’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday afternoon, at Magnolia Cemetery, FM 1408, Holly Springs.

Special thanks to Dr. Santa Cruz at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Dr. Levine & Dr. Koda Ii, here in Beaumont for every effort they made. Danny could be stubborn, he had to do it “his way”.

Sweetheart, your suffering is over. Now you are at peace, & you will be missed forever.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

Danny and I were the best of friends. He and I have shared many conversations concerning his relationship to Jesus and the next life that God has for all of us. He was at peace with God beyond what others could really understand. God will meet you wherever you are and reveal His love and grace. You will be missed my ole bricklayer friend! Tell Jesus “Hi” for me!

Danny always had time to talk and listen, when I was a kid. We never did see each other often, He surely will be missed. God gained another Angel.

Me and him loved the Dallas Cowboys and loved to talk about them. He loved his two sons more than anything.

Dear Satcher family: I’m so very very sad to hear of Danny’s passing. I hadn’t seen him in years but we occasionally ran across each other on Facebook. He was always just as kind as he ever was. I’m sorry he was suffering but it’s good to know he’s no longer in pain and he’s now with Jesus. My heart goes out to his family and please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless all of you.
