David Glenn Matkin

David Glenn Matkin, 78, of Kountze, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017. He was born on May 30, 1939, in Beaumont, to Leona Mary and William Thomas Matkin. David retired as the supervisor at Mason Construction in Beaumont.

Survivors include his children, Michael David Matkin and Marleen Ladd Grissom, both of Kountze; grandchildren, Melanie Gayle Grissom, of Kountze; and Thomas David Matkin and his fiancée, Azlyn Smith, of Warren; great-grandchildren, Denesia Powell, Natalia Grissom, Emmanuel Novales, and Mariana Novales, all of Kountze; and Kinsey Sunshine Matkin, of Lumberton; sister, Barbara Ann Carnley of Beaumont; nephew, Jeffery Carnley; and nieces, Christine Armstrong and her husband, J.L.; Tammy McKenna and her husband, Tom and Dianne Langston and her husband, Roy; and large family of beloved co-workers at Mason Construction, LTD.

David is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Huey Matkin; and sister, Mabel Miller.

A private family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. A memorial service will be at a later date.
