David Preston Sholars
David Preston Sholars, 65, of Hamshire, died Friday, October 26, 2018. He was born on October 1, 1953, in Crockett, to June Lee Gibson and Jack Wayne Sholars.
Survivors include his son, Samuel David Sholars and his wife, Christine, of Dilley; daughter, Katie Lee Sholars of Center; grandchildren, David Preston Sholars, Delilah Ellen Sholars, and Stephen Preston Sholars, all of Dilly; and Kaitlyn Diane Davis and Kiya Ann Davis, both of Center; parents, June Lee Gibson Sholars and Jack “Sam” Wayne Sholars, of Winnie; brother, Michael Wayne Sholars of Waller; sister, Melanie Lee Griffin and her husband, Reverend Kevin, of Winnie; nieces and nephew, Kimberly Lynn Sholars, Sherman Wayne Sholars, and Morgan Rae Sholars, all of Houston; and Sarah June Thompson, Justin Keith Griffin, and Nathan Kevin Griffin, all of Winnie; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and a host of wonderful friends.
A funeral service for Mr. Sholars will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, followed by his interment at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
