Debra Ann Kirkwood-Lee

Debra Ann was born on June 18, 1955, to Clinton Martin Sr., and Roberta Porter, in Tyler County. She attended school at Lincoln High School in Port Arthur, Texas, she has been a resident of Jefferson County from a young age, even until her death. 

Debra accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age, she became a member of the Church of God and Christ, in Hillister, Texas, under the leadership of the late Pastor W. D. Haynes. She met and married Walter J. Lee Sr., to this union nine children were born. Debra was a housewife who touched the hearts of many with her loving heart and kind words and she will be deeply missed.

Mama has gone to join her parents, Clinton Martin Sr., and Roberta Porter; two sons, Joshua and David Lee; one daughter, Kimberly Lee; two brothers, John Kirkwood and Troy Martin; three sisters, Shirley Kirkwood, Ruby Bowie, and Roberta Virginia Shaw; and one grandson, Michael Thomas Jr.

Leaving to cherish her precious memories are her children, Renee Lee, Walter Lee Jr.; Jennifer Lee-Johnson, Mary Lee, Sonja Lee and Jessica Thomas and her husband, Michael; four brothers; Clarence Kirkwood Jr., Kenneth Kirkwood, William Martin, and Clinton Martin, Jr.; three sisters, Clarice Dorsey, Thelma Ross, and Detra Martin; her one and only husband, Walter Lee Sr.; seventeen grandkids, nine great-grandkids, and a host of nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank Thelma Shaw, and Melliady Elam for their support throughout the years and helping us with our mother. We would also like to thank Walter Lee, Sr., for his continued support throughout the years for his ex-wife.  

A gathering of Mrs. Kirkwood-Lee’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 with her funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2020, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s.
