Denys Charles Laurence Wade

November 26, 1990 - June 24, 2017

Denys Charles Laurence Wade entered this life on November 26, 1990, and departed June 24, 2017.  His name was carefully selected in hopes that he would pick up the best of all his namesakes – great-uncles, Charles Hall, Charles Gay, Laurence Wade and grandfather, Larry Hall.  Denys, a character from “Out of Africa” topped it off to allow for his own unique individuality.  And unique he was.

He attended St. Anthony’s Cathedral school, pre-K through 3rd grade, All Saints Episcopal School, 4th grade through 8th grade, Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School – 9th grade, and graduated from Woodville High School.  Denys most recently completed Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics at Lamar university in May and was poised to make a difference in the world.

Denys was active in Beaumont Youth Soccer playing from age 4 through his teenage years.  He completed the Karate for Kids program, beginning the quest for his black belt at age 5 and obtaining his first-degree black belt at age 7.  He also participated in the Civil Air Patrol during his Jr. High years and enjoyed many hours of flight with military veterans.  Denys was known for many pranks, a wickedly sharp sense of humor, and a deep sensitivity for people and an incredible thirst for knowledge.  He loved animals of many varieties and was responsible for many members of a rotating menagerie over the years.

Denys is survived by parents, Robert and Annette Wade of Beaumont, brother, Patrick of Carrollton, TX, grandparents, Jim Hall and Linda of Bloomfield, MO, and Sally Hall of Dexter, MO, uncles – Glenn and Rene Wade of Vancouver, BC, Gary and Rhonda Hall of Dexter, MO, and Joe and Debbie Hall of Houston, TX.  Cousins, Eric Hall and his family of Zalma, MO, Landon Hall of Dexter, MO, Elizabeth Wade of Amman Jordan, Carter Wade of Artesia, NM, Tyler Wickham of Swaziland, and Cameron and Courtney Hall of Houston, TX, and by his treasured Dalmation children, Cosmos and Nova.  Denys is also survived by many extended family members and cherished friends, many of whom he has known from early childhood.

Denys was preceded in death by grandparents, Homer Jack Wade and Verline Walker Wade, great-grandmother Frances Goodrich Hall, great-aunt Joyce Walker Gay, cherished friends, Michael Brooks Smith, Emily Taylor Foux, and Frankie Rae Baker.

A memorial service for Denys will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 14, 2017, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont, with a reception for his family and friends to follow at Broussard’s Centre, 1775 Calder Avenue, Beaumont.

We ask that you honor Denys’ love for animals by contributing in lieu of flowers to humanesocietyofsoutheasttexs.org.

My deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of Deny. At GSU I worked with Annette, a very nice lady. I never had the pleasure of meeting Deny, but he sounds like a person with whom I would have been glad to have as a friend of my sons. May the Peace of Christ be with you.
