Dixie Danielson
Dixie “Grandflower” Danielson, 91, of Beaumont, died Monday, March 8, 2021. She was born on December 22, 1929, in Washburn County, Wisconsin, to Floris Hedelson Morkin and Leo Morkin.
Survivors include her sons, Todd Danielson and his wife, Wilma, of Silsbee; Thomas Danielson of Spring; and Jonathon Danielson and his wife, Karon, of Burkeville; grandchildren, Holly Foster and her husband, Bradley and Ashley Gibson and her husband, Jamie, all of Silsbee; and Parker Danielson and his wife, Hannah, of Beaumont; and great-grandchildren, Brielle, Annastyn, and Kelsynn Foster and August and Syrus Gibson. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reverend John August Danielson; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Huston; sisters, Cleone Thompson and Mable “Meg” Sabin; and brother, Elwood Morkin.
A gathering of Mrs. Danielson’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at John Danielson Memorial Cemetery, Fred.

I loved Dixie the second I met her. She was such fun and she was marrying my uncle.. I was an impressionable young teen then. Dixie and I were the same height and she had some skirts that were no longer enjoyed by her so I was the lucky recipient. As I became an adult I always treasured the visits with Dixie. That last visit was 5 years ago when my husband and I visited Texas. Dixie had not gotten taller. I remember helping her into our car to go out to eat at her favorite Mexican restaurant in Spring. Then back to her home to play dominoes.and talk. We loved to talk. What a dear sweet aunt she was. I will miss her.

Dixie Dan was a member of OWLS at Lon Star College and what an amazing writer. She had the gift off comedy, too. I miss her so very much and have appreciated those stories of her family and grandchildren. She was so proud of all of you. I will miss her so very much. Love and prayers to the family. ashe

Dixie and I attended a writing class together for about 10 years called the OWL’s. She was a joy to be with, she had a great sense of humor and her stories were entertaining. Dixie will be missed by all her many OWL writers and friends.
