Durwood Johnson, 87, of Beaumont, died Monday, April 17, 2017, in Beaumont. He was born on May 2, 1929, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Durwood retired as President of Rainbow Baking Company. He was very active with the YMBL and was a key member. It was a huge part of his life.

Survivors include his son, Glen Johnson and his wife, Vicki; and daughter, Anita Wilson, all of Beaumont; grandkids, Tisha Matthews and her husband, David; Christopher Johnson and his wife, Audrey; Jonathan Johnson and his wife, Katie; Misti Wullenwaber and her husband, Lee; William Johnson and his wife, Rosie; Shelby Johnson; and Jacob Rice; eight great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Cookie Rice.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Johnson and son, Sput Johnson.

A gathering of Mr. Johnson’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Sour Lake.
