Edith Partlow
Edith Rose Galbreath Partlow, 64, was born in Beaumont, Texas on Father’s Day, June 19, 1955. She was a resident of Kountze, Texas, where she grew blueberries alongside her husband of eleven years, Wayne Partlow.
She was the third child of Hazel Jean Galbreath and John Maurice Galbreath, II. Edith was very involved in the Lumberton School District and had a heart for children. This gave her the idea to open up a daycare, The Learning Center, to reach children at a young age to prepare them for their scholastic future. She loved all her children at the daycare. This love and knack she had for being a business owner lead her to have many more businesses in Lumberton; Premier Video, Curves for Women, and C Bar O Ranch and Feed Store.
Owning all these companies meant she was involved with the community and either serviced or work with the majority of its residents. She was a people person who never met a stranger. She loved to spread the news of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She wanted people to know of His goodness. Her contagious smile lit up the world. She was known for her continual smile and laugh. Most the time you would hear her before you saw her. To know her was to love her.
Edith was called home on December 11, 2019. At the time of death, she was surrounded by her family and her friends. Survivors include her husband, Wayne Partlow; her children, Lee Ozment and his wife, Jill, of Lumberton; Jean Rojas and her husband, Rafael, of Kountze; and her bonus children Lauren Sturm and her husband, Brandon, of Katy; Robert Partlow and his wife, Lindsey, of Spring; and Justin Partlow and his wife, Jessica, of Tyler; grandchildren, Easton Ozment, Emilee Ozment, Ellie Ozment, Gabriel Rojas, Seth Sturm, Shane Sturm, Naomi Partlow, Skylar Partlow, Dylan Partlow, Laurel Partlow, and Laney Partlow; sisters, Mary Clendennen and her husband, Chris, of Marble Falls, and Marilynn Larson and her husband, Jeff, of Mineola; brother, John Galbreath and his wife, Linda, of Beaumont; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil Ozment; and brother, Joe Galbreath.
A gathering of Edith’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Monday December 16, 2019, at First Baptist Church, 100 W. Monroe St., Kountze, under the direction of Broussard’s, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.

Mrs. Edith was such a giving person. She always put others first. I met her when my oldest was attending her daycare and she cared for him as if he were her own. She always called me to come get blueberries every summer. We would share blueberry recipes. God received a beautiful angel. Praying for the family.

Losing Edith is will affect everyone with a hurt heart. Like said above I did meet her in the grocery store and hearing her I had to go introduce my self I fell in love with her laughter.. Then from that moment on we were life long friends!!! Raised my girls at the learning Center and she was at their births and birthday party’s .. Edith I love and truly will miss you!!!

I had the honor of getting acquainted with Edith ten years ago or so and was overwhelmed at her warmth, charm, grace, and her uplifting demeanor. The encounter, which was only a short period of time and among a group of friends I went to high school with, left a lasting impression on me and with hope that I would get to have the pleasure again. I cannot imagine how much she will be missed by those who were blessed to have her in their lives on a regular basis.. May God bless and be with you during this difficult time.
