Elaine Jones

Elaine Jones, 90, of Hankamer, died Tuesday, July 30, 2019. She was born on July 14, 1929, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to Hilda Venetta Quankeubush and William Noah Skidmore. Elaine was full of advice whether it was needed or not, and the grandkids would stand in line for her special back rubs. She was also able to recite the alphabet backwards and enjoyed gardening and making jam, but, most of all, Elaine loved her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Galvan and her husband, Jerry, of Hankamer; son, Robert Jones and his wife, Diane, of Grosse Isle, Michigan; grandchildren, Jerry Galvan and his wife, Angela; Mark Jones and his wife, Valerie; Elaine Salinas and her husband, Tyrone; Becky Torres and her husband, Dago; Matt Jones and his wife, Jolie; and Lloyd Galvan and his wife, Andrea; seventeen great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Jones; granddaughter, Maria Idalia Galvan; and siblings, Marion Steward, William Skidmore, Dorothy Patterson, Ron Skidmore and Gene Skidmore.

A graveside service for Mrs. Jones will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 2, 2019, at Abshier Cemetery, County Road 112,  Devers, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie.
