Ella V. miller

Ella V. Miller, 84, of Nederland, died Wednesday, March 1, 2017. She was born on March 27, 1932, in Honey Island, to Effie Jones Gibson and Emory Gibson.

Ella was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She worked in the Central Middle School cafeteria in Nederland for several years before retiring for health reasons. Ella was a lifetime member of the Langham Elementary School PTA and loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Vernest “Coffee” Miller of Nederland; daughters, Tastie Miller and Renee’ O’Connor, both of Nederland and Janette Lofton and her husband, Lynn, of North Carolina; grandchildren, Jesse Hardy, Riki Hardy, Trey O’Connor, Max O’Connor, Lynette Smith, Bret Lofton, and Jared Lofton; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Smith, Zoe Lofton, Cody Lofton, Vanessa Best, and Lydia Lofton; and sisters, Elise Cuniff of Arkansas and Ethel Overstreet of Kountze.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Edith Stolle.

A gathering for Mrs. Miller’s family and friends will begin at 8:00 a.m., followed by her funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 6, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A private family committal service will be held at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
