Elliot Gerard Lemoins

November 9, 1981 - February 3, 2017

Elliott Gerard Lemoins, 35, of Beaumont, formerly of Port Arthur, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017, at St. Luke’s Heart Institute.

He was born on November 9, 1981 to Sonja Faciane Lemoins and Martin Lee Lemoins.  Elliott was baptized at St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur, Texas and made his first communion at St. Anne Catholic Church. He was confirmed at St Pius X Catholic Church. Elliott attended Montessori Pre-School in Nederland, Texas, Elementary School, St. Anne Catholic School, and Ozen High School. He earned his GED and completed the following studies: The School of Small Business Manager, Principles of Finance from Lee College, Sales Associate Training, and Drafting from Lamar University in Beaumont.

Elliott was known as Flames (nickname Big E) in the music industry. Elliott was a Texas based artist, song writer, DJ, member of the group Alive and Free, and executive producer at Underdawg Entertainment.

Flames has released two solid mixtape efforts: “Only One Way Up” and “The Return of Real Musik”.  He was also a part of the hip hop group “Alive and Free”, alongside fellow artist Maku Shakur and super producers The Strangers. Flames was in full motion toward releasing a long awaited studio album, “Nothing Else Matters” and “The Alive and Free EP” with hopes of becoming one of the big names in music industry. He was the opening act for Lil Wayne and Drake in the 2014 tour. This success made his musical genius work harder. He had his witty words, straight to the point delivery, art of storytelling and his ability to NOT follow the mainstream and still be a contender. Flames was an artist with a beautiful mind and spirt.  He will be truly missed, but the mark he left in his music will live on forever.

Elliott biggest love was hip-hop – rap music.  He spent many hours of his time writing lyrics, beats and help produce his videos.  Please visit the following You Tube Sites to see the results of his work.

He is the beloved son of Martin Lee Lemoins and Sonja Faciane Lemoins of Beaumont, Texas and grandson of the late Jules Faciane, Sr., Yvonne Dugue Faciane Lundy of New Orleans, Louisiana and Olide and Eva Chavis Lemoins of Kinder, Louisiana.

I'm two years too late. I have sent messages on social media, periodically checked for updates and nothing. The thought crossed my mind but I wouldn't dare do what I finally had the courage to do tonight. My mom would say " I haven't heard from my boy Big E in awhile" but again I couldn't process it. I send my love and prayers hoping that the unwavering love you shared with your son comforts you.
