Elsie Spell

Elsie Mae Spell, 92, of Silsbee, died Sunday, July 29, 2018. She was born on November 27, 1925, in Village Mills, to Lessie May Walters and Stonewall Stutts.

Survivors include her children, Dianne Hutto, of Silsbee; Merlon Sterling Spell and his wife, Carla, of Kirbyville; Douglas Parron Spell and Jimmy Mark Spell, of Silsbee; grandchildren, Toni Dianne Woods, of Evadale; Melanie Deanna Tobleman and her husband, Rick, of Vidor; Lucy Spell, of Houston; Kristie Reid, of Beaumont; and Dustin Spell, of Silsbee; great-grandchildren, Brandi Scharber, of Silsbee; Anthony Woods and his wife, Selena, of San Marcos; and Mindy Savoie, of Houston; and sisters Bobby Massingill and her husband, Bubbie and Carolyn Williams, both of Honey Island.

Elsie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merlon Lee Spell; son, Tommy Max Spell; and her siblings, Lounell Courts, Kenneth Eugene Stutts, and Albert Leon Suttus.

A gathering of Mrs. Spell’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. with her funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. Her interment will follow as well at Village Mills Cemetery, Village Mills.
