Erin Donalson

May 3, 1996 - May 12, 2018

Erin Caroline Donalson, 22, of Silsbee, died Saturday, May 12, 2018.  She was born on May 3, 1996, in Beaumont, to Alyson Derkits Donalson and Drew Donalson.

Survivors include her parents, Alyson and Drew Donalson; siblings, Lauren Donalson of Boston, Massachusetts, Blair Donalson of Krum, and Heath Donalson of Houston; grandparents, Bonnie and John Derkits of Jasper; aunts and uncles, Gretchen Woodard and her husband, Bobby, of Silsbee; Janna Cormier and her husband, James, of Austin; Cecilia Allen and her husband, Brad, of Martindale; James Derkits and his wife, Laura, of Port Aransas; and Sheila Gralino and her husband, B.J., of Fort Worth; cousin, Alex Donalson and his wife, Rachel, of Lumberton; and numerous other cousins.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Carolyn and J.D. Donalson; uncle, Jerry Donalson; and cousin, Beatrice Cormier.

Erin was a 2014 honor graduate of Silsbee High School where she was active in school drama productions, soccer, volleyball, and UIL competitions. She then attended Texas A&M University where she loved her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega and Fightin’ Texas Aggie football. Erin transferred to Texas A&M Corpus Christi’s wildlife and fisheries program, which allowed her to pursue her passions for saltwater fishing, paddle boarding, and playing with her dog, Lucy. 

A gathering of Erin’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2018, at First United Methodist Church, 670 North 5th Street, Silsbee.  Her committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

The Erin Caroline Donalson Memorial Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to a wildlife and fisheries major at Texas A&M Corpus Christi in celebration of Erin’s passion for her school and the outdoors.
