Ernest "Joe" Campbell

July 6, 1942 - June 12, 2021

Ernest Adris Campbell “Joe”, 79, of Hamshire, died at Mid-Jefferson Extended Care in Beaumont, surrounded by family on June 12, 2021. He was born on July 6, 1942, to Mavis Earl Campbell and Tony Adris Campbell in Beaumont, Texas.

Joe worked at metal farms as a helper for many years until he retired. He lived with his cousin, Ronald and Vickey Comeaux for over 30 years, where they cared for him until they passed. His nephew, Jacob and his niece, Patty cared for him until he passed. Joe enjoyed getting together with his family and going to Leakey, Texas to the deer lease. He loved gardening and drinking his Bud light. He was a compassionate dog lover, and he had a Black Lab named Shaylynn, who was his fur baby until she passed of old age. Joe had a smile that could light up a room.  He loved to act silly and laugh with his family, and he loved any type of sweets.  

Survivors include his nieces, Carolyn Knoblock and her husband, Earl, of Warren and Patty Norris and her husband, Chris, of Anahuac; Toshia Dubose and her husband ,Lesley, of Kirbyville; Kinley McFarland and her husband, Mason, of Vidor; and Jacy Norris of Anahuac; nephews, Lonnie Comeaux of Rosenberg; Jason Reed of Anahuac; Josh Norris and his wife ,Bee, of Baton Rouge; Jacob Knoblock and his wife, Dee, of Warren; and Robert Campbell of Winnie; great-nieces, Emalee Reed of Anahuac, Ryleigh Gray of Kirbyville, Sophia Norris of Baton Rouge, and Gracie Knoblock of Warren; great-nephew, Jason McFarland of Vidor; brother, James Campbell of Hamshire; sister-in-law, Pam Campbell of Winnie; and numerous cousins and friends.  

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles Campbell and Edward Campbell; cousins, Ronald and Vickey Comeaux; nephew, James Warren; and his aunts and uncles.

A graveside service for Mr. Campbell will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Fairview Cemetery, 223 Cemetery Road, Winnie, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
