Ernest “Ernie” Walker, 62, of Sour Lake, died Saturday, September 28, 2019. He was born on February 13, 1957, to Billie Ware Walker and Ethel Burt Walker, in Beaumont. Ernie was owner of Burt’s Incorporated in Beaumont. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching old black and white westerns.

Survivors include his wife, LeeAnne Walker; son, James VanMeter and his wife, Sandra, of Navarre, Florida; daughter, Misty Falcon and her husband, Cody, of Katy; brother, Bill Walker of Grand Saline; sister, Tina Rucker and her husband, Don, of Beaumont; grandchildren, River VanMeter, Lake VanMeter, Jack VanMeter, Zach Falcon, Kate and Kelly Falcon, and Ryan “Joobie” Falcon; and sister-in-law, Joelle Walker of Sour Lake.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lollie Soileau; and brother, Judge Kent Walker.

A gathering of Mr. Walker’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
