Eugene Franklin Puckett

Eugene Franklin Puckett, 89, of Kountze, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at The Gardens, Beaumont. He was born on February 6, 1928, in St. Paul, Virginia, to Reathie Flanery and George Puckett. Mr. Puckett retired from Goodyear as a pipefitter after twenty years and was a member of the Local Union 211. He enjoyed studying his bible and tending to his vegetable garden.

Survivors include his children, Brenda Hinklin and her husband, Melvin; and Ronald Puckett and his wife, Ginger, both of Kountze; grandchildren, Caleb Hinklin, Trent Hinklin, Jon Puckett, and Derek Puckett; great-grandchildren, Laydon Hinklin, Connor Hinklin, Trinity Hinklin. Tuff Hinklin, and Hank Puckett; brother, Lincoln Puckett and Bob Puckett; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of sixty-two years, Thelma Louise Sanders Puckett; and son, Donald Wayne Puckett.

A gathering of Mr. Puckett’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Highway 326 Worship Center, 5970 Highway 326, Kountze. His interment will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
