Frank Herring

April 28, 1940 - February 27, 2019

Frank Herring, 78, of Nederland, died Wednesday, February 27, 2019. He was born on April 28, 1940, in Livingston, to Laura Lucille Collins Herring and Franklin Thomas Herring.

Frank worked as an electrician with Local 479 for fifteen years and with the Department of Labor for twenty-one years. He was a Paratrooper with the 101st Airborne in the Army. Frank enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, traveling, and trips to his lake house at Toledo Bend. He deeply loved his children and grandchildren. He also loved to exchange verbal jabs at his life long friend, Dale Meredith.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemarie Bollmann Herring of Nederland; sons, Farrell T. Herring of Breckenridge and Shane V. Herring and his wife, Tricia, of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Yancy Herring; Zechariah Herring; Mackenzie Brookshire and her husband, Ryan; Josie Herring; Ethan Herring; Johnathane Almieda; Melissa Almieda; and Joshua Almieda; ten great-grandchildren, brother, John V. Herring of Hendersonville, North Carolina; and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry W. Herring; and grandsons, Shane Michael and Johnathon Shane Herring.

A gathering of Mr. Herring’s family and friends will be 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Broussard’s, Nederland. His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
