Fred Edgar Douglas

Fred Edgar Douglas, 98, of Henderson, died Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at UT Health Henderson. He was born on December 5, 1922, in Gatesville, to Mary Armenda Davis Douglas and Lee Alvin Douglas. Fred was a fifty plus year member of the Port Neches Masonic Lodge #1163 A.F. and A.M., and he worked at Texaco refinery for thirty-six years and retired as an operator.
Survivors include his children, Thomas Douglas and his wife, Sharon and Mary Maupin and her husband, Bob, all of Henderson; grandchildren, Kristen Graves; Kimberly Poole; Mara Hollingshead; Kelly Douglas; and Kari Merrell; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and twenty-two great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Louise Whitehead Douglas; and siblings, J.W. Douglas and Ima Lee Douglas.
A gathering of Mr. Douglas’ family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 11, 2021, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His family committal will take place at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
