Freddy Lynn Atwood

August 24, 1946 - August 13, 2017

Freddy Lynn Atwood, 70, of Beaumont, died Sunday, August 13, 2017, with his family by his side. He was born on August 24, 1946, in Center, to Bessie Marie and Fred Atwood, and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont. Freddy was a United States Army veteran, having served in Vietnam. He retired as a mill wright from Exxon Mobil, after many years of employment.

Survivors include his children, Cathy Carrow and her husband, Chad of The Woodlands; Rick Atwood and his wife, Candice, of Katy; Jeff Hubert and Chris Atwood, both of Beaumont; and Pamela Tegtmeier and her husband, Daniel, of Montgomery; grandchildren, Cameron Carrow, Payton Carrow, Alyssa Atwood, Kaitlynn Atwood, Cheyenne Patek, Zachary Atwood, Talen Tegtmeier, and Trista Tegtmeier; and sister, Sherry Shell and her husband, Jim, of China.

Freddy is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Atwood; parents; and brother, James Atwood.

He lived for his grandchildren. Freddy was a great father and provider for his family.

A gathering of Mr. Atwood’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 14, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
