Gary Kent Wilson
Gary K. Wilson, 69, of Orange, died Friday, March 26, 2021, at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, Houston. He was born March 3, 1952, in Port Arthur, to Joy Elaine Sandlin Wilson and Jack Chester Wilson. Gary was a physical therapist.
He is survived by his children, Jeremy Wilson and wife, Ana, of Nederland; Justin Wilson, of Austin; Lydia LeBlanc and husband, Josh, of Bridge City; Dane Wright; and Keith Dugas, both of Orange; grandchildren, Lorelei and Pearce Wilson, and Alyssa Dugas; siblings, Gay Lynn Burke, of Jasper and Marc Wilson, of Beaumont.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Joy and Jack Wilson.
A gathering of Mr. Wilson’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Gary for thirty plus years. I met him when he lived in Crockett, Texas. I had just moved to Lovelady,Texas. I was working with the Cornerstone ECI program and needed a physical therapist. We were fast friends. He was a kind soul that would help anyone; gave freely without strings; loved unconditionally his children & family. He made a difference in so many lives that he touched. I remember a home visit we made years ago, the parent had made the decision to place her child in a state facility. Gary completed his evaluation assuring the parent that the child with intensive therapy had a shot at walking one day. They had already made their minds up on the placement. When we left, i burst into tears with the thought of this little one living in a state facility at such a young age. I will never forget what he said to me. "Would you not rather this child be somewhere and someone will love her? " He was correct. I will miss my long time friend, who was always a phone call away. He had the ability to let me see the logic in situations that were difficult. Rest easy, Gary. I know when you hit heaven's gates God said " Well done,, my good and faithful servant." I became acquainted with Gary through my grandsons` physical therapy. We became very good friends and my family thought the world of him. Gary helped numerous children with disabilities and he always did it with a positive good natured attitude. My good friend, I'm going to miss our weekly conversations at therapy. To all of Gary's`family, you have our sympathy and our prayers. May God comfort all of you.
