Gussie Gale Ortego, 79, of Lumberton, died Friday, September 4, 2020. She was born on September 16, 1940, in Pine Prairie, Louisiana, to Eliza Deshotel Foret and Charles Ray Foret.

Survivors include her children, Shirley Ortego Rasco and her husband, Michael, of Kerens; Paul Norman Ortego, Jr. and his wife, Barbara Ann, of Deweyville; and Elizabeth Ortego Will and her husband, Mike, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Brandon Berry, Dolly Arceneaux, Tyler Rasco, Trace Choate, Krystal Vargas, Cody Will, Eric Rasco, and Garrett Will; great-grandchildren, Gracie Rasco, Drake Rasco, Zoe Rasco, Caden Arceneaux, Riley Arceneaux, Eric Arceneaux, River Berry, Nathan Berry, Evan Barry, Sophia Vargas, Luca Davis, Micah Paul Vargas, and Emma Will; siblings, Lee Burke Foret, Sr., George Wayne Foret, Hubert Ray Foret, and Lorrie Faye Cady; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gussie is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Norman Ortego, Sr.; parents; and siblings, Bertha Deville, Roland Foret, and James Foret.

A gathering of Mrs. Ortego’s family and friends will be 9:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at R.S. Famer Memorial Cemetery, Silsbee.
