Harold Monroe, Jr.
Harold “Hal” Straley Monroe, Jr., 65, of Nederland, died Thursday, March 29, 2018. He was born on November 10, 1952, in Port Arthur, to Nancy Parrish and Harold Straley Monroe, Sr.
Hal was an excellent fabricator. He enjoyed working on cars, hunting, and woodworking.
Survivors include his sons, Jason Monroe and his wife, Kristy, of Port Neches and Jeremy Monroe and his wife, Misty, of Nederland; grandchildren, Damien and Christian; great-grandchildren, Oriannna; mother, Nancy Sikes of Wildwood; siblings, Charles Frederick Monroe of Winnie; Nancy Hatton and her husband, David, of Woodville; and James Hooker and his wife, Renee, of Houston; numerous nieces and nephews; and Ann Harrell. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Monroe, Sr.; and brother, Mark Monroe.
A gathering of Mr. Monroe’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Cremation arrangements will be under the direction of Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Monroe’s memory to American Cancer Society, #4 Bayou Brandt, Suite B, Beaumont, Texas 77706.
