Helen Malee Bast

April 14, 1952 - July 29, 2019

Helen Malee Bast, 67, of Beaumont, Texas passed away peacefully Monday July 29, 2019.

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 14, 1952. Lived in Houston then remaining in Beaumont for more than 40 Years.

Helen was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Friend and Avid Bingo Player. She enjoyed watching her Cleveland Indians play, playing cards, greedy, crabbing and gardening.

Helen is survived by her children, Tammy and Todd Mount of Beaumont, Charles Bast and Renee Farlow of California and Michael Bast, Jr.; grandchild, Brian Keith Luquette II; sister, Sandra Toth; sisters-in-law, Gloria Jackson, Madonna Borchert, Alicia Moore; brothers-in-law, Jessie Perron, Dwayne Herrmann, Herman Siverd and Louie Toth; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family including Margaret Nickell, Reagan Herring and Donna Jones, Lynnette Hammond and Annette Walles.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Bast Sr.; parents, Helen Sichak Malee, Thomas Malee and Dolores Malee; and brothers, Tom Malee and John Malee.

The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to: Sohail Akbani, Ashley Humphreys and the awesome staff at Baptist Hospital & Julie & Ben Rogers Cancer Center, SETMA and EMS teams.

A gathering of Mrs. Bast’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2019, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland. There will be a family gathering at the West End Baptist Church, 8180 Phelan Boulevard, Beaumont, following the service at the cemetery.
