Hollis Fairley, 44, of Hamshire, died Tuesday, March 23, 2021. He was born on January 25, 1977, in Gulfport, Mississippi, to Brenda Rae Musgrave and Melvin Milton Fairley. Hollis was a commercial sales representative for H&E Equipment Services.

Hollis originally lived in Wiggins, Mississippi. After his parents passed away, he moved to Louisiana with his aunts. He attended college at McNeese State University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He attended college on a rodeo scholarship. Hollis roped calves for several years traveling all over the country. He also shot sporting clays, was an avid hunter, participated in duck and goose calling competitions, was involved in the Trevor Lee Chesson Memorial Marsh Fest, and team roped.He met many friends through hunting, which included those in Hamshire, Texas. He lived for a while in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where he was hired as a Sales Representative for H&E Equipment Services. His territory mostly consisted of the Southeast Texas region, so he decided to build a home in Hamshire. He met his wife in 2010 and after several years of courtship, married her in 2016. They enjoyed traveling, attending their son’s sporting events, and hanging with their friends.

He is survived by his wife of five years, Brandy Fairley; stepson, Kaden O’Quinn; nieces, Talon and Ava Luke; brother-in-law, Heath and his wife, Janell Luke; mother-in-law, Stephanie and her husband, Jerry Lingor; and many friends that he considered family.

Hollis is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Brenda Fairley; aunts that raised him; Mabel Fairley and Gloria “Sis” Fairley; and father-in-law, Marcus Luke.

Memorial Contributions for Mr. Fairley may be made to the Trevor Lee Chesson Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 186, Hamshire, Texas 77622.

A Cowboy Casual Celebration of Life for Mr. Fairley will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Hinds Ranch, 14886 Brush Island Road, Winnie. Seating will be provided. A reception will be held following the service at Shane and Aimee Chesson's home, 24240 HWY 124, Hamshire, Texas 77622. Cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.

    I've never had the privilege of meeting the man that stole my dear old friend Brandy's heart. I know he brought amazing joy, love, and happiness to her and Kaden's life. My heart breaks for them, loved ones, and family that was touched by his presence in their life.

    Our deepest condolences from my family to yours. I enjoyed our conversations and and appreciate your friendship. I really enjoyed one of our conversations about one of your trips to Las Vegas and you telling me that I needed to go to The Golden Steer on my next trip to Vegas. We did just that and I will forever remember you when we travel back to Vegas and frequent The Golden Steer. Rest In Peace my friend!
