Irene “MiMi” Lynd

Irene “Mimi” Lynd, 83, of Beaumont, died Friday, December 1, 2017. She was born on December 27, 1933.

Irene enjoyed cooking, working in the garden, playing Bunco, and watching Wheel of Fortune. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and MiMi.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam Gilchriest, of Beauxart Gardens; grandchildren, Chad Smith; Cory Smith and his wife, April; Nick Gilchriest and his wife, Lisa; Casey Smith, and his wife, Katie; Heath Gilchriest and his wife, Crystal; and Chayne Smith and his wife, Kaleigh; great-grandchildren, Taryn, Conner, Caden, Kamden, Kallie, Cadence, Austin, Karsyn, Kayla, Korey, Tristan, Zoie; sister, Shirley Harrington and her husband, Dan, of Port Acres; son-in-law, Charles Smith of Beauxart Gardens; and granddaughter-in-law, Anna.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-six years, Pops Lynd; daughter, Mary Wendy Smith; grandson, Davey Gilchriest; two sisters; and three brothers.

Memorial contributions for Mrs. Lynd may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1893, Memphis, Tennessee 38101.

A gathering of Mrs. Lynd’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with her Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m., and her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.

Mom you are a beautiful person inside and out. I want to. Thank you for all you did for me. I miss you so much. I know you are happy now being with dad. I know your heart was broken.
