J.D. Stanley

J.D. Stanley, 25, of Vidor, died Tuesday, February 25, 2020. He was born on July 27, 1994, to Johnna Kay Viator Lea and Tommy Glenn Stanley, Sr., in Beaumont.

J.D. was born and raised Catholic. He was an altar server at Our Lady of Lourdes in Vidor as a young boy. J.D worked several years as an operator at a concrete company and as an equipped operator in construction. He worked as a body tech the last few years. His greatest achievement were his two beautiful sons. He loved making others laugh and was always telling jokes, he was the life of the party. J.D. was extremely proud of his brothers and attended every sporting event that his younger brother Layne participated in.

J.D. enjoyed playing golf and baseball. He loved fishing on Lake Rayburn with his PawPaw and brothers. J.D enjoyed hotrod and antique cars and loved listening to all types of music. Some of his favorite artists were Kid Rock, Lil Baby, Lyonard Skynard and David Allan Coe. He always had a cherished pet dog. 

Every Easter the entire family would play kickball where everyone participated. You would think it was the worlds kickball final as competitive as it was. J.D. loved for the family to play cards together, especially 31. He loved it when everyone danced together and played competitive family games of washers, darts, pool, and beer pong. He and his brothers usually held the undefeated title in every event. 

Survivors include his parents; sons, Gunner and Tucker Stanley; brothers, Tommy Stanley, Jr., and his wife, Karlie Broussard; and Layne Mobley; niece, Aaliyah Stanley; nephew, Axell Stanley; maternal grandmother, Marie Viator; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, J.D. and Verline Stanley; maternal grandfather, Johnny Viator, Sr.

A gathering of J.D.’s family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2020, at Broussard’s, with his cremation immediately following his service at Broussard’s Crematorium.
