Jacqueline “Jackie” Smith

Jacqueline “Jackie” Smith, 80, of Port Acres, died Sunday, September 24, 2017. She was born on March 20, 1937, in Port Arthur, to Wanona Breaux and Irving Broussard.

Jackie enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing piano, and singing. She will be remembered as a loving mother, Maw Maw, and sister.

Survivors include her daughters, Belinda Smith of Port Acres; Becky Hardin and her husband, Derky, of Port Arthur; Vicky Smith of Port Neches; Agnes Harrington and her husband, Danny, of Bridge City; Christine Lambert and her husband, Ellis, of Sontag, Mississippi; son, Joseph Smith and his wife, Traci, of Port Acres; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; brothers, Gene, Alvin, Irving, and Raymond Broussard; sisters, Sandy Wyatt and Beverly May.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wanona and Irving Broussard; husband of fifty-one years, Floyd Smith; daughters, Darlene Errington and Bernadette Prince; and brother, Ronnie Broussard.

A gathering of Mrs. Smith’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with her Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 28, 2017, at St. Therese of the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church, 6412 Garnet Avenue, Port Acres. Her cremation arrangements will be held under the direction of Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
