James Rhoden

March 16, 1949 - September 16, 2017

James Rhoden, 68, of Nederland, died Saturday, September 16, 2017. He was born on March 16, 1949, in Beeville, to Anni and Leroy Rhoden.

James retired after thirty-two years of service from Exxon-Mobil as an operator and enjoyed all kinds of music.

Survivors include his wife, Julie Hollingsworth Rhoden of Nederland; daughters, Stacy Rhoden Migues and her husband, Michael, of Groves and Cristina Rhoden of Port Arthur; step-son, Brandon Shields and his wife, Jeannetyle Miller, of Winnie; step-daughter, Kasey Shields of Dallas; mother, Anni Rhoden of Groves; grandchildren, Kenley Migues, Katie Migues, Ava Shields, Hudson Shields, and Ila Shields; brother, Michael Rhoden and his wife, Cindy, of Vidor; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Leroy Rhoden; and brother, Wayne Rhoden.

A gathering Mr. Rhoden’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Cremation arrangements will be under the direction of Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Rhoden’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
