James Thaggard

James Marlin Thaggard, 71, of Port Arthur, died Friday, January 5, 2018. He was born on August 28, 1946, in Port Arthur, to Violet Grace Miller and James Marshall Thaggard.

James attended Port Neches-Groves High School, and went on to attend Lamar University. Upon graduation from Lamar, James went on to coach and teach for several years at Hamshire-Fannett and Vidor Schools. He retired from Exxon Mobil after more than thirty-years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Thaggard of Port Arthur; and his step-daughter, Misty Meaux McLean of Canada.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Violet Grace Miller; father, James Marshall Thaggard; and sister, Marsha Diane Thaggard.

Mr. Thaggard’s cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
