James “Wally” Wallis Gregorcyk

James Wallis Gregorcyk, 79, of Beaumont, passed away peacefully at his beach house in Port Bolivar on Saturday, May 6, 2017.

Wallis, also known as Wally or Sweet Wally, had a long successful career with Conn’s, primarily as President of the credit department. He was a respected businessman serving on the board of the Better Business Bureau of Port Arthur, as well as Conn’s board. Wallis was also an active member of St. Anne Catholic Church, serving as an usher and President of the board.

He was foremost a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Wallis loved spending time with his family and enjoyed fishing, cooking and playing golf. He also loved traveling with his family and was thrilled one year to play golf at St. Andrew’s in Scotland. His gentle nature, kindness, generosity, graciousness and wit made him loved by all.

Wally is survived by his devoted, loving wife of fifty-nine years, Fran; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and René Gregorcyk of Clear Lake; daughter, Vicky Gregorcyk and her partner, Leslie Hector, of Houston; daughter, Sharon Gregorcyk and her partner, Paula Satterfield, of Dallas; grandchildren, Lauren, Blake, Rowen and Jordan; sister, Janet Reindl; and brother, Scott Gregorcyk and his wife, Alice.

A Vigil for Mr. Gregorcyk will be at 5:00 p.m., with a gathering to follow until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
