James Williams

James Wesley Williams, 89, of Kountze, died Friday, September 7, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on July 23, 1929, in Orange, to Vernie Ethel Thomas and Nolon Emery Williams. James was a United States Army veteran, having served in the Korean War, and he later retired as an electrician.

He was member of IBEW Local #390 and #479, Kountze-Sour Lake Chapter #724 Order of the Eastern Star and James was also a sixty-year member and Past Master of Pine Masonic #642 A.F. and A.M. in Kountze.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Edith Maree Williams; children, James Williams and his wife, Sissy; and Theresa Belew and her husband, Keith, all of Jasper; stepchildren, Jack Hardy and his wife, Ute, of Jewett; Donald Hardy and his wife, Paula, of Winnie; Karl Hardy and his wife, Jeannie; and Rhodda Frazier and her husband, Don; and sister, Patricia “Mitsi” Perino, all of Kountze; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

James is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister.

A graveside service for Mr. Williams’ family and friends will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2018, at Old Hardin Cemetery, Old Hardin Road, Kountze, under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.
