James Williams

James Earl Williams, 88, of Honey Island, died Tuesday, May 28, 2019. He was born on December 15, 1930, in Many, Louisiana, to Alice Self and James Francis Williams. James was a United States Army veteran. He also retired from Texaco after thirty-six years of employment.

Survivors include his children, Anna Beth Kelly of Woodridge, Virginia, Louis A. Williams and Laura Williams, both of Honey Island; grandchildren, Amy Kelly and Annie Kelly; great-grandson, Dylan; sisters, Agnes Thompson, Oma Moore, Doris Adams, Alice Faye Langham; brother, Billy Ray Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.

James is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tommie Jean Hendrix Williams; son, James Earl Williams, Jr.; and his brothers, Hollis Williams, Leroy Williams, and Junior Williams.

A gathering of Mr. Williams’ family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. His interment will follow at Jordan Cemetery, Honey Island.
