Jeanie Green

Jeanie Green, 89, of Nederland, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019, at Mid Jefferson Extended Care Hospital, Nederland. She was born December 9, 1929, in Wink, Texas, to Thelma Cooper Mayfield and Roy Rushing Mayfield.

Jeanie was a lifelong resident of Nederland and a long-standing member of First Baptist Church of Nederland. Jeanie’s life was devoted to her lord and savior, Jesus Christ, her family, and her many friends. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sports games and rarely missed them. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Craig; grandson, Michael Craig and his wife, Denise, and their children; sisters, Bettie Rhodes Hoy and Dee Lehner; sister-in-law, Peggy Menard; grandson-in-law, Darin Auer, and his children, Elianna and Emillie Auer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Roy Mayfield; husband, Barney Lee Green; son, Kent Green; granddaughter, Elizabeth Auer; and sisters, Mary Philyaw and Florene Burkett.

A gathering of Mrs. Green’s family and friends will be 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at Broussard’s, followed by her interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
