Jerry Hugh Long of Winnie passed away on January 8, 2021. He was born on October 18,1940. He is survived by his lifelong companion, Shirley Touchet; children, Crystal Burns and husband, Randy; Daniel Long and his wife, Cindy; Wendy Gregg and husband, Scott; and Chery Harvey; grandkids, Shea Marshall and one on the way, Ethan Burns, Michael and Brandon Lutz, Danielle Spears, Alec Brooks, Sara Harvey; great-grandkids, Dallas Marshall, Mason, Bailey and Ava Lutz, Braxton Spears and one on the way; brothers, Troy, Leon Long and Ralph Junior (Jay) Long; sisters, Carmie Whisnant and Barbara Jean Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Ralph and Leila Long; kids, David and Violet; and siblings, Roy and Charles Long, Carolyn Burch and Evalee Reid.

A gathering of Mr. Long’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2021, at First Baptist Church, 120 West Pear, Winnie, with Pastor Bryan Johnson presiding. His interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Pallbearers are Mike Wells, Thomas (Bubba) Deis, Larry Bertrand, Rod Brannon, Brad Wilkerson and David Gallier. Honorary pallbearer is Daniel Long.
