Jimmie Clyde Ortego

January 25, 1940 - April 6, 2020

Jimmie Clyde Ortego, 80, a lifelong resident of the Mid-county area, entered the Lord’s kingdom on Tuesday, April 6, 2020, at Memorial Herman Texas Medical Center, Houston. He was born January 25, 1940, in Port Arthur, to Josephine Fornol Ortego and John Lee Ortego.

Jimmie was a United States Army veteran. He loved motorcycles, fast cars, and dancing. He truly loved his life as a tugboat captain.

Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Stutzenburg and her husband, Danny, of Silsbee; sons, Jimmie Ray Ortego and Mark Ortego and their families; grandchildren, Kristi Premeaux and her husband, Jeremy, of Nederland and Aaron Lasseigne and his wife, Nickie, of Port Neches; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Ryan Premeaux, of Nederland; sisters, Mary, Susan, and Shirley; sister-in-law, Minnie Ortego; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of Mr. Ortego’s family and friends will be on Thursday, April 9, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His graveside service will follow at 12:00 p.m., at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions, the family would like to simply ask for them to be kept in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
