I proudly serve in the United States Air Force in your footsteps of serving this country. It’s been an honor to call you my grandpa and I’ll cherish the conversations, the time around the fire with a guitar, and being in Galveston with you. Wish you could have met the twins. I love you! You’re forever Army Strong.

Betty Jane... My heart is so broken over hearing about Jimmie... he has always had such a special place in my heart... you and your family has also.. I wanted to share a really sweet and funny memory with you about Jimmie... I can remember back years ago we would go to singings at Bro McNeelys church... I was no more than 8 or so... my cousin and I always hitched a ride with Granny and Grandpa because we just knew Freddie and Jimmie would be there... ☺️ I told Jimmie about this and how we would just about “swoon” over him when he would sing “Unclouded Day” playing that bass... LOL...he thought that was just so funny....there never was a time over the years I would see him somewhere and he always had a hug and something funny to say to me... I really thought the world of him and I want you to know I have been praying for you, Betty, that God would give you peace, strength and comfort. You and your family has been through so much over the past year ... it hasn’t gone unnoticed and I have prayed many times and will continue to do so... if you ever need me for anything at all.... you just reach out... I love you my friend.
