Jimmy Thornton

Jimmy Bert Thornton, 76, of Village Mills, died Sunday, October 29, 2017. He was born on November 19, 1940, in Beaumont, to Lucille Majors Thornton and Zolan Berson Thornton.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Thornton; daughters, Gayle Franks and her husband, Tim, of Beaumont; Glynda Anderson and her husband, Bruce, of Hamshire; and Alexie Rutledge of Lumberton; sons, Gary Thornton and his wife, Gina and Geoffery Thornton and his wife, Amy, all of Lumberton; grandchildren, Jeromy Thornton and his wife, Stephanie, of The Woodlands; Jarrod Thornton and his wife, Kelly, and Krystalyn Lowe, all of Beaumont; Zack Lowe of Hamshire; Andrew Anderson and Lauren Anderson, both of LaBelle; Morgan Haynes and her husband, A.J.; Emilee Sitton, Gloriana Garza, and Jadah Dennis, all of Lumberton; Dylan Dennis of Jacksonville, Florida; Kennedy Dennis and Grace McKewen, both of Lumberton; and Cole Thornton and Alyssa Thornton, both of Buna; great-grandchildren, Evan Thornton, Levi Thornton, Harper Herring, Allison Haynes, Cameron Glode, Landynn Fazio, and Avery Fazio; sister, Cathryn Rutledge and her husband, Gary, of Lumberton; brother, Glen Thornton and his wife, Shirley, of Gun Barrell; mother-in-law, Pollye Bradsby; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and sons, Andy and Austin Thornton.

A gathering of Mr. Thornton’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His interment will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 3, 2017, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery, Silsbee.
