Jo Anna Verret

June 14, 1943 - February 25, 2018

Jo Anna Ogden Verret, 74, of Beaumont, died Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. A native resident of Beaumont, Jo Anna was born on June 14, 1943, to Anna Mary Cates and Lewis Edgar Ogden.

She attended St. Anne Catholic School and graduated from Beaumont High School. Jo Anna worked for George Gallup of the Gallup Poll as his personal secretary during the 1970s, and she worked for Sabine Surveyors in Port Arthur from 1980 to 2011. She was a fantastic cook and she loved entertaining. Jo Anna was passionate about gardening, knitting, collecting seashells, reading, and dancing. She adored her friends, family, and cats, and she loved them all unconditionally.

Jo Anna is survived by her daughters, Kathy Verret Coffee and husband, Todd, of Dallas, and Merrie Verret Montondon, of Beaumont; sisters Judy Watts, and husband, Jim, and Elizabeth Hale, and husband, Steve, all of Horseshoe Bay, TX; brother Bill Ogden, and wife, Mikki, of Dallas; and grandchildren, Nathan Montondon, Christopher Montondon, Claire Montondon, Patrick Noack, Elizabeth Noack, Parker Coffee, Grace Coffee, and Anna Coffee. She leaves behind a large group of family and friends who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents and step-father, who were longtime Beaumont residents.

A memorial service for Ms. Verret will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, February 26, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A private family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont.
