Joe Hawthorne

Joe Walter Hawthorne, 72, of Georgetown and formerly of Silsbee, died Sunday, December 8, 2019. He was born on December 17, 1946, in Kirbyville, to Ema Harper Hawthorne and Don Lee Hawthorne. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam era.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Hawthorne; children, Kimberly Hawthorne of Lumberton and Amy Hawthorne of Georgetown; grandchildren, Brandon Lindeman of Austin; Jordan Gore and his wife, Shelby, of Silsbee; and Andrew Lindeman and Madisyn Gore, both of Lumberton; and siblings, Don Hawthorne and his wife, Elizabeth, of Lumberton; Sharon Richards and her husband, Jack, of Friendswood; Kathy Ridgeway of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Jerry Hawthorne and his wife, Connie, of Silsbee. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of Joe’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His interment will follow at R.S. Farmer Memorial Park Silsbee.
