Joetta Chick Heckaman

Joetta Chick Heckaman, 64, of Hamshire, died June 18, 2017. She was born June 12, 1953, in Sonora, Texas, to Bernice McDonald Chick and Truman Chick. Joetta grew up in Bangs, Texas, and was a longtime resident of the Hamshire area, and was a dispatcher for Jefferson County Sheriff’s department. 

Survivors include husband, Jerry Heckaman; children, Kevin Heckaman and his wife, Michelle; Cody Heckaman and his wife, Jessica; and Heather Lotz; grandchildren, Aaron Heckaman, Andrew Heckaman, Jamus Lotz, Madison Cockerham, Austen Cockerham, Kheagian Heckaman, Kimbra Lotz and Cameron Heckaman; sisters, Annie G. Daugherty, Joyce Dugger and Judy Mast; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of Mrs. Heckaman’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Broussard’s Chapel, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Broussard’s, with a private committal under the direction of Broussard’s, 5150 Stivers, Beaumont.
