Johanna “Jopie” Haskins

August 17, 1936 - October 21, 2019

On Monday, October 21, 2019, Johanna Elizabeth Haskins passed away at the age of 83.

Johanna “Jopie” was born in Enschede, Holland on August 17, 1936. As a child, she survived the terrifying years of WWII, and grew into one of the strongest women you’d ever meet. She was very proud to become a naturalized United States citizen. She taught herself to speak, read and write english through reading comic books. She was a very loving woman, wife, mother, and grandmother who worked hard ensure that her family had a better “life” than she had.

Jopie loved to travel, camp, read, put puzzles together and just be with her family. Wherever we were she always made it “home”. Her favorite past time was playing the slot machines and video poker. She always had a welcoming smile and would do anything for her family, especially her grandsons who were the light of her life.

Jopie will be greatly missed by us all. Until we meet again…

Jopie leaves behind her loving husband of fifty-three years, James D. Haskins, of Fannett; daughter, Marcia D. Crawford, of Fannett; son, Richard J. Haskins; and daughter-in-law, Pamela Haskins of Eatonton, Georgia; daughter, Cynthia D. Carriere and “her favorite” son-in-law, Neil J. Carriere, of Fannett; grandsons, Nicholas R. Walker-Carriere and Nathan J. Sanchez, of Fannett; granddaughters, Lacey White and Lindsey Biggers; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; nine siblings; and grandson, Nicolas J. Haskins.

Please join us for A Celebration of Life for Nana on Sunday October 27th, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Neil and Cynthia Carriere’s home.
